Metropolitan University Leeds

Students at Leeds Metropolitan University have voted overwhelmingly against changing their university name to Leeds Beckett . An online referendum held last month by the Leeds Metropolitan student union prompted 1, 265 students to vote against the proposed name change compared to just 279 who backed it, out of 28, students. It means that the issue will now be raised at the board of trustees meeting which will be held next week. The School was founded in 1915 as the Cambridge School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, and was the first to produce women graduate training in these two professions, coordinated under a single faculty.
