PEN New England and The New England Institute of Art joined forces for the third year to motivate and inspire young literary writers in the community through the Naked Truth Magazine Literary Contest. The contest was open to high school students in the Boston area, and winners were chosen this March by a panel of judges at The New England Institute of Art. The winners of the contest were celebrated in a public reading on May 31st at the school in Brookline, and will have their entries published in the college’s student magazine called The Naked Truth Magazine.“This event is meant to give college students a chance to be active in the community and to promote and encourage literary art and writing to high school students in the Boston area and on our campus, ” said David Blair, instructor in general education at The New England Institute of Art. “We’re happy to announce that we had over 100 pages of poetry and prose this year.”The Naked Truth Magazine is a literary magazine published every semester by The New England Institute of Art student club, Naked Truth.
