About us

Oxford Brookes, School of

Studying for a degree in architecture or design at our University will quite simply teach you how to become the best in your chosen field.

We are the only RIBA-accredited school of architecture in the region, which offers RIBA-exempt courses in all three parts, namely, BA (Hons) (Part 1), MArch (Part 2) and PgDip level (Part 3). The final examination with the award of postgraduate diploma in Architecture enables you to become a registered architect

Our Interior Design course is taught by experts who specialise in design communication, creative processes, sustainability, brand development, hospitality and strategic design management. Our MA Design and Visualisation staff have experience in working with brand names such as AGA, Cadbury’s and JCB.

90% of our students go on to work and/or study within six months of completing our Architecture BA (Hons). (KIS DATA)

Our Landscape Architecture courses are also fully recognised and accredited by the Landscape Institute (LI).

You will be based in our £62 million Parkside Building, part of the City Centre Campus - a creative learning environment to rival any studio in the country. We are located in the new Eastside district, an evolving and exciting hub for creative and digital industries.

Around 80 per cent of our RIBA Part 2 students have also studied their Part 1 with us. We also provide students already employed in practice with the opportunity to study part-time.

The School enjoys close relationships with RIBA West Midlands, MADE (the Midlands Architecture Centre), and Birmingham City Council. These are key relationships that allow us to have an influence on the region, and offer our students hands-on experience in re-shaping the city.
