GCSE mathematics and English language at grade C or above. We do not accept GCSE equivalents. Plus one of the following
• Diploma in Foundation Studies (Art and Design) – distinction
• Access – at least 45 credits at level 3 from a relevant Open College Network accredited course
All applicants are invited to attend a selection event. We base our offer of a place on your performance at the selection event and provided you meet our minimum entry requirements. The level of offer will be determined following assessment at the selection event.
If English is not your first language you need an IELTS average score of 6.0 with a minimum score of 5.5 in each skill.
Meeting the qualifications on the entry criteria does not guarantee you a place. You should ensure that you submit a personal statement and reference as these are considered as part of the selection process. Guidelines on personal statements and references can be found on the UCAS website.

Portfolios for international applicants
International applicants will be invited to submit a digital portfolio after we receive your application. Your portfolio should aim to cover the main requirements stated here. It must contain no more than 10 pages and must not exceed 3MB in overall size. You must rely on your creativity and graphic judgement. You can present more than one piece on each portfolio page.
Some international applicants will also be invited for an interview through the internet using SKYPE.
2017 Entry Requirements
GCSE mathematics and English language at grade C or Grade 4 or above. We do not accept GCSE equivalents. Plus one of the following
• 120 UCAS points including at least 88 points from A levels or equivalent BTEC National qualifications or entry by selection event with portfolio and the possibility of a reduced points offer. We accept AS levels. We do not accept general studies.
Or
• 104 UCAS points from three A levels or equivalent BTEC National qualifications or entry by selection event with portfolio and the possibility of a reduced points offer. We do not accept general studies.
New UCAS tariff points system for courses starting from September 2017. This is significantly different to the current points system and uses an alternative method of calculation. You can find information about these changes on the UCAS website and use the UCAS tariff calculator to work out your points.
